Funeral for Mary Beth Montgomery, 83, of Moulton will be today, November 10, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Neil Carter and Bro. Jeff Griffis officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Montgomery, who died Thursday, November 8, 2012, was born February 21, 1929, in Lawrence County to Lawrence Alexander and Donnie Robbins Alexander. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She worked at the Shirt Factory for many years and loved to sew. Later in life, she was a kind and dedicated caregiver. She adored her grandchildren and was very close to her siblings. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, John Montgomery; her parents; one son, John Michael Montgomery; and four brothers, Garland, Russell, Casey and Rayburn; and sister, Shirley Kilgore.
Survivors include her son, Mark Montgomery (Melissa); granddaughter, Amy McLemore (Martin); grandson, John Montgomery; brother, Gordon Alexander; three sisters, Alma Alldredge (Ray), Shelby Moses (Hoye) and Brenda Aldridge; one sister-in-law, Billie Nell Cross; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Montgomery, Monty Cross, Tim Coleman, Ronnie Alexander, Jacob Alldredge and Larry Alexander.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
