Mary Bess Mosley Gates Palmer, 83, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Meadows. She was born October 2, 1930, in Itawamba County to Grover C. and Lucreitia Gray Mosley. She was a homemaker and a retired hospitality worker. She was a member of Plainview Church of Christ.

Services will be at 2 p. m. Sunday, March 30, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Minister Tom House and Bro. Jackie Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Berenda Craig, of Fulton; three sons, Larry Gates (Regina) of Fulton, Marty Gates (DeShaun) of Saltillo, and Brad Gates (Carol) of Fulton; one sister, Lucy Taylor Summers of Bartlett, TN; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clayton Gates, in 1976; her second husband, Margin Palmer, in 2009; one brother, Sterling Mosley; three sisters, Lyda Thaxton, Anne Cayson, and Jean Franke; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Mike Meadows, Lee Grant, Al Johnson, Mike Markham, Jon Little, Sam Baker, and Richard Dunn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Taylor Lesley, Zack Baker, Blake Boyd, Brayden Boyd, and Keegan Weathersby.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Meadows Resident Activity Fund, 1905 South Adams St., Fulton, MS 38843, or to the Region Rehabilitation Center, 615 Pegram Dr., Tupelo, MS 38801.
