Mary Beasley Hammer died peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 78.
She was born in Jackson, TN, on March 21, 1946. The youngest of seven children, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Ellis and Frances Allen Ferguson Beasley.
Mary was retired from a fulfilling career as payroll and accounting clerk from Allied Signal Automotive.
In her lifetime, Mary created lasting memories through her various passions and hobbies. She was known for her love of cooking and taking care of her family, always ensuring they were nourished both in body and soul. Her green thumb was evident in the beautiful gardens she tended with pride. In her youth, Mary was a versatile athlete, showcasing her skills in high school basketball and actively participating in roller skating and diving performances.
Mary will be dearly missed by her surviving family members and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Wally Hammer of Jackson, TN; her daughter, Ivy Page Hancock, along with her husband Trae and their son Liam of Copenhagen, Denmark and her sister, Carrie Beasley Moffitt and her husband Keith of Jackson, TN.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
A Memorial Service to honor and remember Mary Beasley Hammer will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The service will be a time to celebrate Mary’s life and share the impact she had on all who knew her.
