Mary Baschab-Haslacker knows how to make the decisions that matter to you
The District Judge’s decisions affect your safety and well-being. The Judge approves and signs warrants, grants bail and sets bond conditions, decides whether a person is guilty of a crime, and decides whether a victim of a theft will receive restitution. I have years of experience making the type of decisions a District Judge must make. In my positions as a staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals, as clerk to U.S. District Judge Inge Johnson, and as a prosecutor for Leighton, I spent years assessing the validity of warrants, the sufficiency of evidence for conviction of crimes and traffic offenses. In those positions, as well as my work as a U.S. Probation Officer, I gained years of experience deciding the issues of bail and bond conditions, the appropriate sentence for those convicted of both misdemeanors and felonies, and whether a victim should receive restitution.
As a municipal prosecutor, I resolve the traffic and misdemeanor cases that come through the municipal court. Because of the high load of cases that municipal courts handle, the prosecutor has the responsibility of fact finding, analyzing the law, and resolving the case. I work the cases when court is not in session and, in the vast majority of cases, hand them resolved to the municipal judge on the day of court.
I know how to make the decisions that matter to you. Vote Mary in the Republican priMary on May 24.
