Mary Anne Moore Freeman, born February 6, 1931, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, in Marietta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lamar Freeman and parents, Ethredge Moore and Bernice Richeson Moore.
She earned a BS Degree from the University of Alabama’s School of Commerce and Business Administration in 1953. At a time when few women competed in business, she progressed from advertising sales to advertising manager and finally publisher at newspapers in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. She spent the last 20 years of her career as a marketing executive, ending as area marketing director for three north Alabama hospitals. After retirement and for 15 years, she and Lamar traveled extensively in North America, dividing their time between their Alaska summer home where they enjoyed many adventures and wintering in the South, first in Panama City, Florida and then in Mentone, Alabama.
She is survived by her and Lamar’s “chosen” children George Richeson, Asenah Richeson; granddaughter, JeRevien Richeson and numerous loved cousins including Nancy Siniard.
Pallbearers will be George Richeson, William McKee, Bart Siniard, John Coffee, Joe Mayhew and Issac Maxwell. Funeral will be Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 1 p.m. at New Brashiers Chapel United Methodist Church, Arab, with Rev. Brian Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Brashiers Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the church.
