Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Lynch Haney, 81, will be 3p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, in the Chapel at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle, AL with Pastor J. D. Thorne officiating. Burial will be at Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Haney died Sunday June 13, 2016 at her home surrounded by family following a recent illness. She was born July 23, 1934 to Robert Hilton Lynch and Miriam Lucille Herring Lynch Kirk. She grew up in Columbus, Mississippi and Central Alabama; graduating from Greensboro High School. She and her husband moved to Priceville, AL in September of 1969. She was a loving wife of 60 years; devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; and dedicated member of Pt. Mallard Parkway Baptist Church (formerly named Antioch Baptist). She enjoyed traveling, especially to see extended family, gardening, and cooking. She will be fondly remembered for her scrumptious red velvet cake and her chicken-in-dressing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Lynch Jr., and sister Edith Lynch Hallman.
Survivors include her husband Willie Green Haney of Priceville, three children; Brian Haney (Cindy) of Athens, Russell Haney (Tammy) of Hartselle, and Miriam Haney of Smyrna, Tennessee. Three grandchildren Stephanie McGrew (Kevin) of Somerville, Jessica Haney of Valdosta, Georgia, and Mallory Haney of Nashville, Tennessee. One Great-grandson Alexander McGrew, whom she referred to as her “little man.”
Pallbearers will be Kevin McGrew, Bruce Hallman Jr., Bill Trawick, Matthew Trawick, Adam Watkins, Clint Madison, Geno Shirey, and Eddie Blackwood. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s Sunday School Members of Point Mallard Parkway Baptist Church.
The family of Mrs. Haney would like to thank the caring staffs of Good Samaritan Hospice, Summerford Rehab, and Madison Hospital.
