Mary Ann Duncan Irvin, 78, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born on April 2, 1945 in the Turon Community to Milas and Elsie Irene Duncan . She grew up in Smithville and she married James Irvin on September 12, 1963. She worked in the area garment industry before her retirement. Mary Ann was heavily involved with Girls Scouts of America where she helped many a young girl meet their full potential. She and her husband, James, loved to travel and go camping. For 16 years, they were the camp hosts for the Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve. During the Christmas season, she worked at Gray’s Tree Farm and later with the Worthey Tree Farm. She loved sewing and Mary Ann was a long-time member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ where she was instrumental in the Lady Bugs program making teddy bears for young children in the hospital. She was a member of The Red Hat Club for many years. She had a heart of gold and loved to laugh and have a good time.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Ministers Derrick Maranto and Bobby Cleveland officiating. Burial will follow in the Pope Cemetery near Vernon.
She is survived by one son, David Irvin (Sheila) of Gattman; one daughter, Beverly Means (Ron) of Henderson, TN; son-in-law, Bobby Feaker; brother, Boyd Duncan (Judy) of Quincy; sister, Becky Faught of Ripley, MS; brother-in-law, Wayne Phillips of Hatley; sister-in-law, Reba Duncan of Cason; and a host of nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Robbie Smith, Mary Elizabeth Means Kilpatrick (Neal), Ronald Means (Jessica), Matthew Irvin, and Jacob Feaker (Madison); great grandchildren, Tatum, Tillie, and Isobel Kilpatrick; and Layton Means.
She was preceded in death by her parents; ; her husband, James Irvin; daughter; Angela Niccole Irvin Feaker; one sister, Irene Duncan Phillips; brothers, Jimmy Duncan and Jake Duncan; twin grandchildren, Rose Marie and Stephanie Feaker; and cousin, Daniel Gregory.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Puckett, Chris Irvin, Ronald Means, Matthew Irvin, Jacob Feaker, and Ben Cleveland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Duncan, Michael Humphries, Johnny Irvin, Tim Wright, current and past elders, and deacons of Christian Chapel Church of Christ.
Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday.
