Mary Ann Cordell, aged 77, passed away peacefully at her home on November 25th, 2024. Mary Ann was born on October 25th, 1946 to the parents of James K. and Bennie Jean Ballenger and was the last surviving child of seven. Mary Ann was a graduate of Dora High School, class of 1966, where she was the head cheerleader her senior year. She married Tommie Ray Cordell in 1966 and they remained married for 58 loving years. She is survived by her husband, Tommie Cordell, her two children, Bradley Cordell and Brandi Smith, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary Ann was a devoted and caring wife and mother who had a love for children of all ages, cooking, and entertaining. Viewing will be held at New Horizon Funeral Home on Sunday, December 1st from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. Burial and short chapel service for close friends and immediate family will be at 2:00 p.m. Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
