Mary Ann Brewer Hovater, age 81, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Visitation will be today, December 14, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bart Rikard and Ed White officiating. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Ann was a native of Colbert County and retired from Monarch Tile after approximately 40 years of service. She was a member of Hawk Pride Church of Christ in Tuscumbia where she served in the Dorcas Class. Ann loved working in her yard, thrift shopping, and spending time with her great-grandson, Xander. She was a devout Christian lady. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester “Peanut” Clayton Hovater; parents, William J. and Marcy Carolyn Holt Brewer; brother, Jimmy Brewer; and sisters, Jeanie Graham and Nancy Watts.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Hovater Bailey (Bill); brothers, William G. Brewer (Sue) and Jackie Brewer (Gina); sisters, Joyce Massey, Martha Myrick, Nell Holt (Charles), and Gail Delashaw (Michael); one granddaughter, Kassey Green (Steve); one great-grandson, Xander Green; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dwight Jones, Larry Sanderson, Tony Brewer, Danny Olive, Seth Myrick, and Herschel Davis.
