Mary Alice Sylvester, 87 of Athens, Alabama died on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.
Born Saturday, October 8, 1927 in Trinity, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Prince and the late Luther Davis Wallace. A long time member of the Baptist Faith, she had resided in Limestone County most of her life. She loved to sew, spend time with her family, read, and listen to Billy Joe Royal. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tollie L. Sylvester, son, David Sylvester, brother, J.D. Prince, sisters, Lillian Earp, Frances Ashford, and Glyn Morgan.
Surviving are sons, Roger (Genet) Sylvester of Madison, AL and Gerald (Vicki) Sylvester of Athens, AL, daughters, Tolly (Hank) Fincher and and Carol (David) Crow both of New Market, AL, daughter-in-law Jamie Sylvester, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery, Toney, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
