Funeral service for Mary Alice Jones will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Lucas Street Church of Christ (824 Lucas St, Athens, AL 35611) with Pastor Cedric McNeill officiating. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service time. Interment and committal will be at Thatch-Mann cemetery.
Public viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Peoples Funeral Home.

Mary Alice Jones, of Rockford departed this earthly life November 3, 2023. She was born June 25, 1943 in Athens, Alabama the daughter of Felix and Roberta Jones. Mary lived in Rockford over 50 years coming from Long Island, New York. She was employed by Testors many years before becoming ill. Mary was a member of State Street Church of Christ. She attended schools in Athens.
Mary leaves to cherish many loving memories, son, Tony ( ) Stinnett; daughter Amanda Taylor; several grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Jones and Margaret Jones; son in law Mark Shabazz; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; son, David Tisdale and daughter Belinda Shabazz; six sisters, Daisy Washington, Raddie Wilson, Carmen Southern, Mary Washington, Martha Martin and Ida Jones; and brother Jessie James Horton.
