Marvin Leonard Johnson, aged 79, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

A funeral service to celebrate Marvin’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 10th, at 3:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will be available to receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the 3:00 pm service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.

Marvin was born on June 23, 1944, in Boyle County, Kentucky, to the late Clarence Johnson and the late Louise Gordon Johnson. On September 19, 1963, he entered into a loving marriage with the light of his life, Judy Ann Johnson. Marvin’s professional journey led him to establish and operate D and J Construction, a framing company that thrived for over 20 years. Known for his quiet demeanor and a touch of sarcasm, Marvin was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His memory will forever resonate with all those fortunate enough to have known him.

Marvin is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Ann Harris Johnson, and their loving daughters, Sharon Johnson of Columbia and Michelle Smith of Louisville, Kentucky. His brother, JC (Linda) Johnson of Louisville, Kentucky. Marvin leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren who cherished him dearly: Corey Johnson, Milburn Edwards, Stephanie Budrewicz, Marvin Russell, Megan Smith, and Sherry Johnson. His great-grandchildren, Jaiden Budrewicz, Jaxon Niemi, Aaliyah Edwards, and Evianna Edwards, will carry his memory forward.
