Marvin Joyce Johnson, age 90, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at Southerland Place in Brentwood, TN. Marvin was born October 18, 1921 in Lauderdale County, AL to the late George Taylor Johnson and Sally Inez Thornton Johnson. Marvin was a U.S. Navy veteran during World War II. In 1946 he opened Johnson’s Garage which later became Johnson and Messer Body Shop in the New Prospect Community. He was a faithful member of New Prospect United Methodist Church and Past President of New Prospect Community Club.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Ellen Inez Truitt Johnson, three brothers, Norton, Herbert, and Gene Johnson, and one sister, Mary Lantz.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 12, 2012, with Billy Beal officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN with full military honors.

Olivia, Sarai, Christopher, Cole, KaLee, and Nick Messer
