Mr. Garner was born in Limestone County to Roy Garner and Myrtle Bassham Garner. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 65 years, Alice Reba Garner.
Mr. Garner served in the US Army and attended Friendship United Methodist Church. He retired from Prestolite Corporation after 25 years of employment. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and especially spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Sharon O’Connor and husband Fred of Athens; two sisters, Mildred Chapman and Alice Daniel. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jessica, Nadia, and Sean O’Connor.
There will be a graveside service Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Fred O’Connor, Sean O’Connor, Jory Jackson, Richard Martinez, Charles King and Edward King.
