Mr. Marty Joe Overby, age 45, passed from this life Friday July 23, 2021, at home from an extended illness surrounded by his loving family. Marty was born on August 28, 1975, in Gadsden, AL to the late Howard Jerry Overby and Bobby Jean Rogers Overby who survives. He was a 1995 graduate of Van Buren County High School and was a member of Family Harvest Church of God.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather Howard W. Overby.
Marty is survived by his loving family, mother; Bobby Jean Overby of Spencer, bother; Michael (Morgan) Overby of Cookeville, sister; Deborah (Jean) Taylor of Sparta, nephews; Balin and Jean T. Taylor of Sparta. A large extended family, friends and church family also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday July 26, 2021, at 1:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Justin McCulley officiating the service, Bro. Danny Rogers reading the eulogy and Bro. Raymond McDonald providing the graveside service. Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation times are, Sunday July 25th 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Monday July 26th 11:00am till time of service at 1:00pm.
