Martin Dell Rutledge, Sr.

Martin Dell Rutledge, Sr., 77, departed this life surrounded by his family from his Mooreville residence on Friday, June 23, 2023. He was born on June 17, 1946 in California to the late Authur Carl Rutledge and Jean Wilder Rutledge. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War by building roads through Siagon. Martin later retired from Parchman Penatentary from the K9 unit. He was a simple man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping in his spare time. Martin also loved woodworking and watching old westerns. He attended Eggville Freewill Baptist Church. Martin will be greatly missed by all of his family.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 3PM Monday, June 26, 2023 at Eggville Freewill Baptist Church with Dr. Gerald Gann officiating. Visitation will be from 1PM until service time Monday only at the church. Private burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving the family during this time.

Martin is survived by his sons, Nicky Rutledge (LeeAnna), Marty Rutledge (Tara); daughter, Mikki Blystone (Greg); grandchildren, Shannon Rutledge, Destiny Kulovitz (Nathan), Alstin Rutledge, Laynee Rutledge, Zayne Fountain, Braydon Fountain; great-grandchild, Chandler Imel,. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Alstin Rutledge, Nathan Kulovitz, Colby Portor, and Taylor Clark.
