Martha Swords, age 77, of Albertville, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 30, 2024. Her and her husband’s visitation will be at Albertville First Baptist Church on Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 1pm to 3pm with funeral services at 3pm at the church. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Robyn Abney; her son, Mark Swords and his wife Lesa; her cherished grandchildren, Grey Swords, Leah Abney (Justin Looney), and Alec Abney; and her precious great-grandchild, Tatum Looney; and her sister-in-law, Valerie Swords; sister in love, Lynda Gayle Knight. She is also survived by her brother, Roy Moultrie and his wife Janice.
Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Donald Swords; her parents, Grover and Maragem Moultrie; and her granddaughter, Katherine Abney. A dedicated member of First Baptist in Albertville, she found great joy in serving through the church’s homebound ministry. A passionate Auburn fan, Martha’s greatest love was her family, who will forever cherish her memory.
