Martha Rider Johnson, age 85, of Greenbrier, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Mrs. Johnson’s wishes were to be cremated, and there are no services planned at this time.
Mrs. Johnson was born January 10, 1938 in Greensboro, GA to the late Roland and Ruthie Bell Weaver Rider. She worked as an assembler until her retirement at Peterbilt and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnson loved animals, gardening, anything outdoors, and she was a “foodie”.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Johnson, brothers, John Rider, Wallace Rider and Lee Ingram, sisters, Myrtle Burrell and Lelia Ingram, and daughters, Betty Cleek, Vickey Davis, and Sherin Overbey.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her sons, Dillon Johnson, Ivan Johnson and Thomas Johnson, all of Greenbrier; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Ronald Morris; sister, Ruth Ingram of GA; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
