Martha Lois Bates Cossey, age 86 of Estill Springs, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at her residence. She was born on January 18, 1934 in Bedford County to the late Leonard Bates and Hallie Mae Mitchell Bates. She and Eules owned and operated Rock Creek Grocery in Estill Springs and Cossey Mobile Station in Tullahoma. After retirement, she and Eules took off on a three year journey of RV traveling all over the United States, including Alaska and Canada. She will be remembered by her family as a beautiful, precious angel and loving mother. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by a son, Richard Eules Cossey; siblings, Juanita Rogers, Opal Frier, Lillie Mae Richardson, Vennie Thrasher, Nolan Bates, Lester Bates, James Bates and Malcolm Bates. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Eules James Cossey of Estill Springs; children, Diane Stoker of Estill Springs, Anita (Dwayne) Ptaschek of Harvest, Al, Rhonda (Cliff) Adams of Shelbyville, James (Rachelle) Cossey of Wartrace; grandchildren, Leah (Jonathan) Graviss of Atlanta, GA, Micah (Kris) Morrison of Hudson, OH, Lucas (Jennifer) Simpson of Bell Buckle, Samantha (Randy) Howington of Pegram , Jennifer (Chance) Boyle of Silver Lake, KS, John (Kristen) Adams of Tullahoma, Ben (Haley) Adams of Wartrace, Kaila (Tyler) Walls of Tullahoma, Haven Rens of McMinnville, Sierra and Leah Zeiler of Wartrace; great-grandchildren, Allyson, Briana, Caroline, Jonathan, Kayla, Ryan, Isaac , Cashlee, Chaselie, Callie, Jay, Levi, Caroline, Charli, Cooper, Bryce, Tripp, Evy, Brenlea, Ashlyn, Madison, Noah and Stella; siblings, John Bates of Lynchburg and Faye Neal of Murfreesboro. Visitation will be 11 am-1 pm Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm in Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Joseph Campbell and Chaplain Jerry Stewart officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens pallbearers will be Isaac Simpson, Jonathan Graviss, Joey Hasty, Randy Howington, John Adams and Ben Adams.
