Martha Lillian White Patterson

 Martha Lillian White Patterson, age 92, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Southern Magnolia, Iuka, MS. She was born to JH and Mary White in Belmont, MS on July 8, 1931. She graduated from Belmont High School in 1949 and  married Charles Patterson.

She was a faithful Christian and lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Red Bay. She lived her life to serve others in the church and community.  She loved to bake cookies and cakes. She was known for her sugar cookies and Red Velvet cakes.  Anyone that delivered mail, packages, picked up garbage, or any work in the vicinity would pick up cookies when they stopped by.   She loved to serve God by visiting shut-ins, delivering Upper Room devotionals, carrying food to the elderly, and organizing church meals and showers.  She served on Wednesdays at the nursing home washing and styling hair for the residents for more than twenty years. She was a member of Patterson Chapel Homemakers Association. Known as PatPat by her grandkids and others, she loved to garden and share her produce.  She quilted and played Canasta with her friends.

Visitation will be Friday, April 19, 6-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL. The funeral will be held at First United Methodist Church, Red Bay, AL on Saturday, April 20, 11a.m. and she will lie in state from 10-11a.m. Brother Dallas Culver will be officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

Left to cherish her enduring love and the guiding light of her example are her daughters, Regina Sparks and Martha (Dominick) LoGalbo; sons, CK Patterson and Jimmy Patterson; grandchildren, Ken Patterson, Jody Patterson, Stacey (Jody) Hughes, Allison (Bruce) Beene, Andrea (Teddy) Foster,  Charla Lucas, Nathan (Jody) Patterson,  Meagon (Brandon) Gray, Drew Williams, Samantha Patterson, Nick LoGalbo,  Paige (Garret) Dunkle and Austin (Courtney) Sparks and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings, Clement White, John White, Charles White, Ruby Brown, Mary Stephens and special sister-in-law, Thestle Patterson.

Pallbearers will be Hal Keeton, Joey Allen, Paul Huffman, Austin Sparks, Nick LoGalbo, Kobe Williams and Cooper Williams.

Memorials can be made to Grace Methodist Church in Red Bay, AL.
