Martha Lee Ammons Watson was born October 24, 1922 in the Falcon community of Selmer, TN the daughter of the late Robert Earl Ammons, Sr. and Minnie Gladys Carmen Ammons.
She was united in marriage to Fred Clyde Watson on November 26, 1942. Mr. Watson preceded her in death on October 1, 1997.
Mrs. Watson graduated Selmer High School in 1940. She lived in the Falcon community of Selmer, Memphis, TN and retired in Enville, TN. She was a retired account and payroll clerk with Western Textile Products Company. She was a member of the Enville Baptist Church, Enville Community Club and Chester County Senior Center.
She loved sending cards to all her family and friends and keeping every card or letter she received. She enjoyed working in her photo albums and scrapbooks, this was her favorite past time when she was at home. She loved keeping record of visits, phone calls and mail. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed going to Chester County Senior Center twice a week.
Mrs. Watson departed this life on May 4, 2015 in Enville, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 6 Months, 10 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Jones and husband Clyde of Enville, TN; a son-in-law, John Sims of Bartow, FL; a brother, Robert Ammons, Jr. and wife Janice of Memphis, TN; step grandson, Jeff Brunson and wife Amy of Little Rock, AR; adopted granddaughter, Mali Cornitius and husband Mike of League City, TX; great granddaughter, Maya Cornitius; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane Sims; and a stepdaughter, Gloria Brunson.
