Martha Jo Terry Daniel – Obituary

Martha Jo Terry Daniel died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.
She was born June 1, 1941, to Robert Thomas Terry and Comine Screws Sanders Terry, who preceded her in death.
A graduate of Coffee High School and the University of North Alabama, Mrs. Daniel, a career social services worker, devoted her life to the relief of suffering of others. True to her baptismal covenant, she strived for justice and peace among all people, and respected the dignity of every human being. She fought to bring relief to the poor, the oppressed, the abused and the addicted.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her husband, Carrel Daniel; two sons, Joseph Carrel Daniel and David Scott Daniel; three grandchildren, Joshua Carrel Daniel and his wife, Jennifer, Martha Eleanor Daniel and Rufus Townes Daniel; one great-grandchild, Madeline Grace Daniel; and a brother, Robert Sanders Terry and his wife, Diana Gambill Terry.
Funeral services for Mrs. Daniel will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Trinity Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Callie Plunkett Brewton and the Rev. Andrew Carl Keyse officiating. Her ashes will be committed in the church columbarium in the Alice West Mullen Memorial Garden of Trinity Church.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church parish hall. Elkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
The family respectfully requests no flowers for the service. In lieu thereof, memorial gifts may be made to The Saint Francis Project of Trinity Episcopal Church, Post Office Box M, Florence, AL 35631.
