Martha Jeanice Hall, 81, passed away Friday, September 6, at her Tuscumbia home with her family at her side. Visitation will be Monday, September 9, from 2-3:30 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A graveside service will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens with Bubba Cole officiating.
Born July 14, 1943, Martha grew up in Spring Valley, where she was baptized at Spring Valley Church of Christ. In her younger years, she was an accomplished gymnast and performed throughout the area. Though she worked briefly at the courthouse, her calling was as a homemaker, wife and mom.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John E. (Dan) and Louise Crittenden; parents-in-law, Richard and Helen Hall; brothers, Roger Crittenden and Steve Crittenden; sister, Sue Suggs; and brothers-in-law, Raymond Suggs and Jesse Handley.
Martha is survived by her husband of 58 years, Billy Hall; her son, Richard Hall, and his wife, Vicki; sister, Gail Greene, and her husband, Richard; sisters-in-law, Brenda Crittenden and Diane Handley; and beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Eric Greene, Robbie Suggs, Jordan Greene, Brian Hall, Sherman Allen and Will Little.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Beth Gifford and Dana Davis, and Amedisys Hospice, for the wonderful care they gave Martha, and Delores Henry, who was her hairdresser and friend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
