Mrs. Martha Jean Riddle, age 70 of Florence, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, August 12, 2024. Services will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Elkins Funeral Home Chapel in Florence beginning at 2pm. Visitation will be held in the Elkins Parlor prior to the service and will begin at noon. Burial will immediately follow the service at Barkley-White Cemetery in Center Star.

Mrs. Riddle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. There’s nothing in this world that she loved more than helping those in need, but she especially loved to rescue animals in need. She loved her family more than anything in the world; especially her grandchildren.

She was “one heck of a cook” and really enjoyed tending to her flowers and watching hummingbirds. The thing that brought her the most joy, however, was singing gospel music and using her voice to praise her Lord.

Mrs. Riddle was a member of First Assembly of God in Florence.

She is survived by her loving husband, George Riddle; children, Cavin George Riddle, Mark Riddle, Lisa Bevis (Jacob); grandchildren, Alexandria and Eli Gist, Mikaela Riddle, and Haleigh and Jaxon Bevis; many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Van C. White and Ruby Mae Howard White.

Pallbearers for the service are Joseph White, Todd White, Randall White, Anthony Williams, Anthony White, and Carl Witt. J.E. Riddle will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
