Martha Jean Newbern, 76, of Florence, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024, at North Alabama Medical Center. She was a retired pharmacy technician. Martha was a member and nursery volunteer at Highland Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday, February 23, 2024, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Chris Underwood.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel Bacon; father-in-law, Willard Newbern and mother-in-law, Drusilla Newbern; and sister-in-law, Jewel Bacon.
Martha is survived by her husband, Gerald Newbern; sons, Benjamin Newbern and Joshua Newbern (Lisa), brother, Jimmy Bacon (Jenny); sister, Karen Kimbrough (Archie); and grandchildren, Landon Newbern and Corinne Newbern; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Landon Newbern, Stuart Bacon, Tim Bacon, Greg Kimbrough, Dustin Bacon, and Cody Collinsworth.
