Martha Gruber Cabler, 75, of Florence, passed into eternity February 12, 2024, at home after an extended illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Gray and her husband, G.R. (Randy) Gruber.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Kenneth Cabler, and son, Matthew (Elizabeth) Gruber, of Florence, and many nieces and nephews.

Martha was a graduate of Rogers High School and worked as an LPN in various medical clinics. She later worked as a receptionist and travel coordinator.

Martha loved Alabama football, cats, dining out and travel. Most of all, she was a devout Roman Catholic who passionately loved her church and her Christ. Her sweet smile, impeccable style, and biting insight will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be at 10 am, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 am, on Thursday, February 15 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Florian with burial to follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family.

The family thanks Martha’s caregivers, especially her friend, doctor, former boss and honorary big brother Dr. Mike Mitchell, Dr. Ty Ashley and staff, and Enhabit Hospice, specifically Stephanie and Julie.

In lieu of flowers the family ask memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
