Martha Gray Love

Martha Gray Love, 86, of Ford City, AL passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 after an extended battle with heart failure. She passed away at her home, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with a service to follow in the chapel at 3 p.m.  J.D. Harrison will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Martha was born on December 4th, 1936 to Joe and Nora Gray of Nitrate City. After graduating from Leighton High School in 1954, she met the love of her life, Jack Love, and they got married in January of 1955. In the nearly sixty years of marriage, Martha and Jack had two sons, Jimmy and Johnny. Martha excelled at motherhood and was the foundation of her family. She was very supportive to her boys, to a fault. She was a passionate homemaker and an extremely hard worker. No manual labor was too hard for her. She worked and played right alongside Jack everyday of their married life.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Nora and Joe Gray; husband, Jack; sister, Betty; grandson, Barry.

She is survived by her children, Jimmy (Pam) and Johnny (Nancy); grandchildren, Chris (Sandy), Chase, and Chance (Taylor) great grandchildren, Beau, Belle, Katie-Scarlett, and Gus; sister, Sue; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chance Love, Chase Love, Chris Love, Keith Brannon, Doug Ledlow, and Tommy Terry.
