Martha Gail Shewbert, 80, of Russellville, Alabama passed away on February 23, 2024 at Russellville Hospital, Russellville, Alabama. She was born in Colbert County on December 29, 1943 to Daniel Wilkenson Kimbrough and Ruby V. (James) Kimbrough.
Martha was a member of Gateway Church of God in Russellville, Alabama. For many years, she was a Sunday school teacher at Family Worship Church teaching the children the words of God. Martha worked at Sunbridge Home Health Care in Tuscumbia; Burns Nursing Home in Russellville; and Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield. Loving and caring was her enjoyment.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Henry Joly, Jr.; her father, Daniel Wilkenson Kimbrough; her mother, Ruby V. James Kimbrough; grandsons, Dennis Delglish Rosecrans and Michael Christopher Angus; daughter, Angela Carol Angus.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Patricia Marie Rosecrans; son, Daniel Steven “Stevie” Joly; brother, Benjamin Kimbrough; grandchildren, Christopher Angus, Christina Gail Fisher, Sunny Hughes, Brandon Rosecrans; great-grandchildren, Nathan Lowe, Lauren (Elise) Lowe, Tyler Lowe, Christopher Angus, Jaden Angus, Angela Fisher, Abigail Rosecrans, Sophia Rosecrans; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, church family and many more church members that will miss her energetic personality.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Tim Smith and Bro. Nick McSpadden officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Tuscumbia, Alabama.
