Martha Faye Huey, age 86, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at NMMC in Tupelo. She was born on October 13, 1938 to Beachum Mace and Hester Adaline Washington Jaggers. Martha was a member of Longview Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was a standout basketball player at Pontotoc High School, and later enjoyed playing softball and gardening, but her favorite pastime was spent with her family and sharing in their activities.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Longview Cemetery with Rev. Drake Merritt officiating. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the Huey family with the arrangements.
Survivors include her two sons, John M. “Mack” Huey (Anita) and Michael Huey (Christi); six grandchildren, Joshua Huey (Hayley), Adam Huey and Olivia Huey, Wyatt Huey (Hannah), Cole Huey and Morgan Huey (Hannah); three great-grandchildren, Eliza, Laural and Ruby Claire Huey; and a close friend and caregiver, Geraldine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold M. Huey; a sister, Lazette Jaggers and three brothers, Palmer Jaggers, Delmer Jaggers and Autry Jaggers.
Pallbearers will be Mack Huey, Michael Huey, Wyatt Huey, Cole Huey, Morgan Huey and Drake Merritt.
