Funeral service for Martha Fay (Terrell) Teague Hitt, age 82, of Decatur, will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Festus Grissom officiating. Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Decatur City Cemetery.
Mrs. Hitt, who died Thursday, January 11, 2024, at her son’s residence, was born February 7, 1941, in Alabama to William Henry Terrell and Martha Louannie Taylor Terrell. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Angalee Williams; husbands, Oliver Teague and James Hitt; her parents; three brothers, Claude Terrell, Henry Terrell, and Justice Terrell; two sisters, Mildred Parker and Betty Grissom; and granddaughter, Tammy Teague.
She is survived by three sons, Ricky Teague (Lynn), Nicky Teague (Dee), and Micky Teague; three daughters, Janice Grigsby (Jim), Patsy Teague, and Tammie Parker (Steve); one sister, Della Teague; 23 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Teague, Jr., Randy Teague, Michael Shelton, Jason Clarke, Dusty Morgan, and Jeremy Early. Honorary pallbearer will be Donald Teague.
