Martha Ann Bullock Parker, 80, passed away at Oak Tree Manor in Amory on Thursday, December 28, 2023. She was born in Newport, AR on June 17, 1943 to the late Clyde and Beatrice Atkinson Bullock. She grew up in New Port and graduated from Newport High School. She also attended the State Teachers College in Conway, AR. Martha married Kenneth Parker on December 2, 1961. In the mid 70’s Kenneth’s work led him to the construction of the Tenn Tom Waterway. He and Martha made Amory thier home. She was a devoted homemaker and love all things sports, especially all MSU athletics. She was a staunch supporter and proud Big Momma to her grandchildren. She was a faithful fan to all of their sporting events and loved to made chocolate chip cookies for their team mates. Not only did she loved sports, Martha loved people in general. She never met a stranger and always looked for the best in others. Her love for others was evidenced by her love for Christ. She was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Michelle Parker Davis (Harold), Newport, AR; son, Kenneth Parker, Amory; sisters, Sue Glaze and Mary Madden, both of Newport, AR; grandchildren, Brooke Ellzey (Kenneth), missionaries to Bolivia, Kenneth Benjamin “Ben” Parker of Newport, AR and Trey Kenneth Parker (Lauren Brooke Awtrey) of Amory; great grandchild, Anna Lynn Ellzey; a host of nieces and nephews.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Beatrice Bullock and her husband, Kenneth Parker.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Rickey Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery. Pallbearers wil be Teddy Hadaway, Joey Taylor, Jeff Wideman, Ben Parker, Trey Parker and Taylor Bennett.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 1 PM until 2:45 PM.
