Martha Alice Morris, age 67 of Donelson passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Summit Medical Center. She was the daughter of Cecil Milton and Gracie Lamberth Morris and was born on May 12, 1957 in Sumter, SC, She worked as an office clerk for the Metro Action Commission. She was a 1975 graduate of White House High School. During high school and in her early college years, she worked as a waitress for The Blue Devil Hut and The Other Place. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed cooking, working puzzles and crocheting. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Gracie Morris. She is survived by her fiancé’, Lawrence Bess, Donelson, TN; sister, Susan (Joe) Morris Swab, Mount Juliet, TN; brothers, Cecil (Penny) Morris, Jr., Paducah, KY, Danny (Sheryl) Morris, White House, TN and Allen Mitchell, WV; many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 7pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House. Visitation is planned for Thursday, October 3, 2024 4-7pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow on Friday morning, October 4, 2024 at 10am in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
