(September 27, 1927 – February 19, 2015)

Marshall was born in Malvern, Arkansas. He was a Marine veteran of WWII. He attended American University and was graduated from Woodrow Wilson College of Law. He has lived in Huntsville since 1978 and retired from Intergraph Corporation at age 75. Marshall enjoyed simple pleasures in life-fishing, reading a novel, watching John Wayne movies, but most of all being with his children, grandchildren and friends. His sense of humor was entertaining to those around him, and he kept it throughout his illness. He touched many lives in a positive and loving way. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Tanner; son, John M. Tanner (Sherri); daughter Melissa Scholl (Jon); stepsons Alan Musso (Krisanne); Gregory Musso; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday February 23 from 10:00- 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be at Good Shepherd Church Columbarium. Our deepest gratitude to Hospice Family Care for the dedication, support and loving kindness of those who made the last few months as good as it could be.
