Marsh Pickett, Jr., 63, died Monday at the North MS Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Greenwood on May 9, 1952 to Marsh, Sr. and Jane Pickett. He graduated from Pillow Academy, Mississippi Delta Junior College and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Delta State University. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Hope Church and was a longtime manager for Wendy’s. He enjoyed cooking, competition barbeque, an avid Ole Miss fan and fishing.

Services will be 1 PM Friday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Deidre Pickett of Tupelo; two daughters, Zola Pickett of Baldwyn and Haley Walls (John) of Tupelo; his mother, Jane Pickett of Greenwood; two sisters, Sandi Fitzgibbon (Jimmy) of Little Rock, Ar and Gwen Pickett of Greenwood.

He was preceded in death by his father and an uncle, Jimmy Fortenberry.

Pallbearers will be Milton Pickett, Jim Pickett, William Marshall, Jimmy Godwin, John Walls and Josh Kennedy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lifeline Fellowship • 100 Parkgate Drive • Tupelo, MS 38801

Visitation will be 11 – 1 Friday.
