Marlin Royce Taylor, age 88, Phil Campbell, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. The visitation will be from 12:30-2 pm Friday, May 17, 2013 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Phil Campbell, Alabama prior to the 2:00 pm funeral service in the church sanctuary with Bro. Bobby Poss, Bro. Joe Holmes, and Bro. Jerry Pounders officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Strickland, Christopher Hoehn, Michael Hoehn, Kody Andrews, David Welborn, Billy Pierce, and Buice Swinney. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Alan Taylor; parents, Jourden & Emma Taylor; sister, Peggy Williams; brother, Melburn Taylor; brothers-in-law, Tom Williams and Ted Mitchell. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Martella Taylor; children, Rose (Ed) Knickman, Rebecca (Frank) Hoehn, Dana Welling; sisters, Victory Mitchell, Berneice (Roy) Hollander; brother, Velson (Laura) Taylor; grandchildren, Jamie Shaw, Christopher (Mary Fran) Hoehn, Michael Hoehn, Marla Welling, Jessica Taylor, Jennifer (Josh) Hanson; great grandchildren, Brinley Hanson, Rachel Elizabeth Hoehn; numerous nieces & nephews. He was a faithful member and deacon of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He was a trusted auto mechanic, who worked many years for Tinsley Motor Company; after retiring, his customers still brought their cars to him as he always repaired them, charging a fair price. “Let Marlin’s Magic Keep You Mobile” was his slogan.
