Marlene Smith, 87, of Huntsville, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 23, 2020, at Huntsville Hospital with her children by her side. Marlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She had a great love of family and enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. Marlene enjoyed water aerobics, reading, the Red Hat Club and the Morning Glories Widow’s group.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Charles. She is survived by her son, Charles ‘Chuck’ F. Smith, III; daughters, Sandra Smith McDonald (Jim), and Susan Smith McConnell (Hal); grandson, her sunshine, James Parker McDonald; and beloved sisters, Ethel Ashby, Mildred Mills, Elizabeth Chesteen and Sandra Johnson.
Family visitation was held Tuesday, October 27th at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with a family graveside service following at Maple Hill Cemetery. Pastor Steve Lacey officiated with Ashley Smith providing music.
