Marla Davis Holbrook, 78 of Montgomery, AL, died on December 21, 2024. She was born in Fort Payne, AL, in 1946 to Jim and Frances Davis. She studied education at Auburn University, counseling at Ball State University, and special education at the College of William and Mary. A lifelong educator, she worked as a teacher, a program coordinator for children with special needs, and for many years at the Alabama State Department of Education. She was married to Larry Holbrook from 1969-1996, was the proud mother of Britt and Jon Holbrook, and grandmother of Lucas, Tess, Alyson, Frances, and Grace. She is survived by Larry, Britt, Jon, her grandchildren, her brother Bud Davis, her partner Aaron Chambers, and her dog Chappy. In lieu of flowers, donations to Easterseals Alabama (https://www.easterseals.com/alabama/), which provides services for people with special needs, would be greatly appreciated.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
