Mark Welch, 56, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the North MS Medical Center. He was born March 6, 1963 in Indianapolis, IN to Bill and Beverly Welch. He was a 1981 graduate of Tupelo High School and attended ICC and the University of Alabama. Roll Tide. He attended Belden Baptist Church and was the Co-Owner of Sunshine Health Food Store for the past 37 years. His life was bodybuilding. He competed in powerlifting and body building where he set several records and won numerous awards. He earned the title of Mr. Mississippi in 2003. He loved his fur babies.
Services will be 11 AM Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his father, Bill Welch of Belden; one brother, Bruce Welch (Glenda) of Belden; two nieces, Katie Holland (Connor) of Brandon and Glacia Boyd (Matt) of Huntsville, AL; a special friend, Stephanie Gailor of Belden.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Welch and his grandparents, Ira and Edith Welch and Cyrus and Mildred Rice.
Pallbearers will be Kevin McCullough, Tim Farrar, Brett Bramlett, Jason Steele, Bill Hilliard, Gary Harrington, Don Rowan and Michael Palmer.
Visitation will be 5 – 8 Friday.
