Mark Summers, age 69 of Sherwood, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Sherwood on June 3, 1953, to the late Roy Mac and Francis (Gilliam) Summers. Before his retirement, he had been employed as an ironworker with the 704 Ironworkers Union. Mark enjoyed shooting pool and playing cards with friends, as well as spending time with his beloved family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Maxine Garner. Mark is survived by his significant other, Dianna Casteel of Sherwood; daughter, Heather Harris of Winchester; son, Mark Summers Jr of Winchester; step-daughter, Stacy (Lance) Nunley of Soddy Daisy; step-son, David (Amy) Skalka of Evansville; brothers, Robert Summers of Sherwood, Steve (Nancy) Summers of Sherwood, James Summers of Cowan, and George (Sharon) Summers of Cowan; sister, Margaret Evans of Sherwood; step-brothers, Rick (Cindy) Summers of Winchester, Roy Mac (Coleen) Summers Jr of Anderson, and Scott (Lisa) Summers of Sherwood; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; best friend, Michael Posey of Sinking Cove; and dogs, Bella and Bear. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro.
