Mark McCary Pool, age 72, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away Friday, April 19, 2024. He was a beloved father and grandfather. He was born on October 9, 1951, to the late John Mills Pool and the late Mattie McCary.
Mark graduated from Ramsey High School in Birmingham, AL in 1972 and went on to acquire a degree in engineering from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1976. He proudly led a distinguished career as an Alabama State Employee serving as the County Engineer for Wilcox, Coffee and Houston counties. He was twice selected by his peers across the state as the engineer of the year.
Mark is survived by his former spouse, Reta and their two sons Cary Brandon and Blake Wesley (wife Lisa). Cary and his wife Jessica have two children Logan Michael and Morgan Mattie.
Mark’s passions were Alabama football and deer hunting. He founded the Whitetail Warrior Project that provides disabled veteran opportunities to participate in hunting trips.
