Mark James Estes, age 69 of Gallatin, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Funeral Service will be Sunday, August 18th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Elder Ronnie Tennant officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 18th from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Old Brush Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
Mr. Estes was born September 15, 1954, in Franklin, KY to the late Zelma Rose McCulley Russell. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by son, Mark Charles Kyle Estes; and brother, Dwight Melvin Estes. He is survived by wife of 53 years, Sherrie Pierce Estes of Gallatin; daughter, Jennifer Glover (Chris) of Gallatin; brother-in-law, Mike Pierce (Jayme) of Castalian Springs; aunt, Sharlene “Mickey” Harper (Wayne) of Gallatin; grandchildren, Libby Kingrey (Caleb) and Ally Troutt (Lane); and great grandchild, Colt Kingrey. Mr. Estes was a member of Portland Masonic Lodge F&AM #326 and Shriners. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing. Mark was a Union Ironworker and Boilermaker.
