Mark was born in Columbia, Tennessee, on June 16, 1959, to Milton Clyde Yancey, Sr. and Willie Kincaid Yancey. On December 24, 2004, he married LuAnn Grimmett Yancey. He was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church. He had a tender heart toward others. He enjoyed joking and cutting up, and fishing and camping, especially at Cedar Point Campground on Normandy Lake. He also was very talented at woodworking and could build anything. Most of all he loved being “Pappy” to his grand babies. He was a foreman at Smith Constructors.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife: LuAnn Yancey of Columbia; children: Bobbie (Tim) Black of Columbia, Kelly (Brad Dix) Neely of Murfreesboro, and Ben (Rachel) Warf of Columbia; grandchildren: Makayla Black, Evie Neely and Lila Warf; siblings: Bill (Carole) Yancey and John Yancey; father-in-law: Jimmy Grimmett; nieces and nephews: Jeremy (Kerri) Yancey, Shaun Yancey, Laurie (Cory) Hood, Vickie (Lee) Shumate, and Kim (Joe) Mock. He was preceded in death by his parents: Milton Clyde Yancey, Sr. and Willie Yancey; brother: Buster Yancey; and mother-in-law: Lounora Grimmett.
Funeral services to celebrate Mark’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Bill Yancey will be speaking. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, January 8, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers include: Tim Smith, Chad Smith; and employees of Smith Constructors.
