Marjorie Thompson 93, of Akron, OH, went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2017. She was born on January 17, 1924 in Iron City, TN to the late Clarence and Lela Keeton. She was a homemaker and seamstress during her lifetime.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charlie W. Thompson; twin daughters, Barbara and Dorothy; 1 granddaughter and 2 great-grandchildren.
Marjorie was the loving mother of 8 chlidren, Jasper (Brenda) Thompson of IN, Charles (JoAnn) Thompson of TN, Paulette Thompson of FL, Joyce (Dan) Seale of MO, Glenda (John) Sugg of OH, Sue (Todd) Shimp of OH; 19 grandchildren, Theron, Lori, Michael, Michelle and Angie; Colleen, Darlene and Jimmy; Scott, Michael and Kimberly; Paul and Johathan; Lisa, Barbara, Jody and Johnny; Eric and Michael; 52 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
Services will be Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Steve Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 12 pm to service time at the funeral home.
