Marjorie Hillman Foote, age 77 of Whiteville, Tennessee, departed this life Thursday night, May 19, 2016 at her home.
Mrs. Foote was born Thursday, April 6, 1939 in Whiteville to the late C. C. and Frances Virginia Kelso Hillman. On March 5, 1964, she was united in marriage to Larry Foote. She and her husband lived in Kansas City, Missouri for a period of time, where she worked for Pepsi-Cola. After retiring, they moved back to the Hardeman County area. Mr. Foote passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016.
Marjorie was a member of the Whiteville First Baptist Church, and enjoyed many things in life, including going to the river, fishing, boating, camping, bowling and crocheting. Above all, she loved spending with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Tonya Perry (Raymond) of Whiteville; sons, Ernie Burkeen (Debbie) of Whiteville, and David Burkeen (Stephanie) of Medon; sisters, Virginia Vaughn of Bolivar, and Beverly Lax of Bolivar; brothers, Richard Hillman (Gay) of Houston, Texas, and Mike HIllman of Pensacola, Florida; sister-in-law, Mary Hillman of Somerville; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Hillman; brother, Coleman Hillman; and brother-in-law, Ralph Lax.
Charitable contributions made in Mrs. Foote’s memory may be sent to the Whiteville First Bapist Church.
