Funeral service for Marjorie Ernestine “Teenie” (Brooks) Bowers, age 87, of Moulton, will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Pressnell officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Bowers, who died Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Parkway Medical Center, was born April 30, 1937, in Alabama to William Ernest Brooks and Blanche Stewart Brooks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Bowers; son, Darwin Bowers; parents; brother, Waylon Brooks; and sister, Betty Jo Thornton. Mrs. Bowers attended Athens Bible School and was a devout Christian. She was a lifelong member of County Line Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her leisure time was enjoyed with flowers, puzzles, cooking, quilting, and crocheting.
She is survived by two sons, Rick Bowers (Kaye) and Chris Bowers (Darlene); daughter-in-law, Deborah Bowers; brother, Roger Brooks (Nancy); six grandchildren, Sondra Barnes (Tony), Jacob Bowers (Lori), Benzie Bowers, Richard Bowers (Jayne), Kevin Bowers (Britney), and Melia Bowers; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Bowers, Jacob Bowers, Noah Barnes, Tony Barnes, Will Brooks, and Richard Bowers. Honorary pallbearers will be Levi Barnes and Collin Cagle.
