Marion Sanford Holder, Jr., age 79 of Spring Hill, TN went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Franklin, TN to Marion Sanford “Pete” Holder Sr. and Ollie Lee Morgan Holder. Preceded in death by both parents and a grandson, Austin Ryan Wales. Marion was a life long resident of Williamson County. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1957. He enjoyed watching and playing sports and played baseball and basketball in high school earning the Gentry award in baseball for Most Valuable Player. He also loved fishing. He was a hard worker and loved helping others. He was an auditor and controller at the Williamson County Bank. After many dedicated years of banking service, he retired but continued working at J.C. Penney, Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Herbert’s Barbeque Restaurant and Whitt’s Barbeque. He was active in community service as a member of Jaycees, Civitan, Board of Director of the Sr. Citizens where he received the Helping Hand Award. He was a faithful member of Heritage Church of Christ. Survived by: his loving wife of 62 ½ years, Brownie Dodson Holder; daughters, Olivia (Craig) Wales and Caroline (Thomas) Simmons; sister, Wanda Sue (Bobby) Carpenter; grandchildren, Jason Wales, Katie (Clint) Green, T.C. Simmons IV and Hannah Simmons; great grandchildren, Tristan Wales, Kayla Wales, Anna Green and Ella Green and other loving family members. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Heritage Church of Christ, Steve Blackman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jason Wales, T.C. Simmons, T. Simmons, Larry Dodson, Dewey Dodson, Bobby Carpenter, Craig Wales & Clint Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of Heritage Church of Christ, Glenn Little, Harold Stringer, Jimmy Dyer and Jeff Taylor. Memorials may be made to Heritage Church of Christ Building Fund or Winchester Christian Academy, Winchester, TN.
