Marion K. Darby, 95, of Florence, passed away January 30, 2024, at North Alabama Medical Center. Mr. Darby was an electrician and was retired from Reynolds after 33 years. He was a member of IBEW and North Wood United Methodist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Yohan Hong.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Etta Darby; his wife, Christine Darby and his wife, Ruth Brown Darby; brothers, Milton Darby, Lewis Darby, and Jerry Darby; sisters, Laura Wallace and Katherine McIntyre.
Mr. Darby is survived by his son, Marion K. Darby, II (Connie); daughters, Sue Darby Boyles (Mike), Laura Darby; grandchildren, Lana Darby, Andrea Pinckard, Will Boyles, Darby Boyles, Sabrena Malone, and Sophia Wood; great-grandchild, Dow Pinckard.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and residents of the Renaissance Assisted Living Facility who were like a second family to Mr. Darby.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Wood United Methodist Church General Fund.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Stanfield, Tom Stewart, Larry Faulkner, Jarrod Wallace, Jaxon Wood, McDowell Pinckard.
