Marion Junior Nichols, age 89, of Leighton, died Monday, April 27, 2015. His family will receive friends Thursday, 12-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Bill Newman officiating. Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery.
Mr. Nichols was a Colbert County native and served in the U. S. Army during WWII, and was a surviving POW. He was a member of Hatton Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Nichols; parents, Marvin Lavern and Edith Irene Nichols; brothers, James Nichols, Charles Nichols, Leonard Nichols and grandson, Howard Nichols.
Survivors include his sons; Wayne Nichols and wife Delinda of Leighton, Marion Nichols and wife Ann of Bradstown, KY; Teresa Nichols Holmes (Stan Harris); brother, Eddie Ray Nichols; sister, Hazel Cox, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are grandsons; Stephen Nichols, Cole Nichols, Justin Holmes, Mike Karabaich, Tony Nichols and Andy Nichols.
