The family of Marion Herron Holmes, III, is sad to announce his death Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the Tri-State Summit Hospital, Nashville, Tennessee. Burial will be in the family plot in Oakland Cemetery, Trenton, Tennessee.
Marion was born September 21, 1946, in Jackson, Tennessee. Marion retired from the State of Tennessee computer department after almost 40 years in 2010. He lived in Mt. Juliet and later in Hermitage, Tennessee, until his death.
Marion was preceded in death by; his father Joe D. Holmes, Sr. and his mother, Ida Mae Justiss Holmes Sawyer; his uncle Judge Marion H. Holmes, Jr.; his aunts Martha Ann Holmes and Maude Dew Holmes all of Trenton.
Marion is survived by; his brother Joe D. Holmes, Jr. and wife, Linda of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; nieces Christina Crane (Phillip) of Wentzville, Missouri, and Lynn Mathes of Trenton, Tennessee; a nephew Steven Lee Holmes of Atlanta, Georgia.
