Marilyn Jean Witt Johnson, 83, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at her home peacefully in her sleep. She was born on September 5, 1941, in Tupelo, MS to Talmadge and Dorothy Munn Witt. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A faithful member of Longview Baptist Church, she had worked 3 years at Sherman Shirt Factory and for 34 years at Brookwood Furniture in Pontotoc.
Survivors include her son, Eddie Johnson (Beth), her daughter, Cydney Turner, her grandchildren, Natalie Vandiver (Chris), Shana Kidd (Jeremy), Andrew Johnson (Stefanie), and Colton Turner all of Longview, her great-grandchildren, Cayden Kidd, Adalyn Vandiver, Callie Kidd, Witt Vandiver, Kase Johnson, and Carson Kidd, her dearest friend and sister, Shelia Bryant, her sisters-in-love, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Thomas Johnson, her parents, her brothers, Dewayne, Danny, and Randy Witt, and her son-in-law, Jeffrey Turner.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025, 5-8PM and Wednesday, January 29, 2025, 11-12 at Longview Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow on Wednesday after visitation in Longview Baptist Church Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Johnson, Colton Turner, Cayden Kidd, Witt Vandiver, Chris Vandiver, and Jeremy Kidd. Honorary pallbearers will be Carty Bryant, Wally Witt, Carson Kidd, and Kase Johnson.
